Our Programs

21st Century

Reaching All Minds Organization (RAMO) is a Community based organization . Our program will focus on providing project-based learning models, Student, Technology, Education, Program, (STEP) and Service Learning that have documented success in improving student achievement. These project-based activities will integrate academic tutoring in reading, math, and science. The
project will expand and enhance services for students in grades K- 8.   RAMO has promoted its Vision of providing transformational strategies that will reach all minds in order to accomplish its Mission of enhancing the educational achievement of all students.

The design of our program is to provide active learning within and outside the after-school program walls.  RAMO 21st Century Community Learning Center will provide 35 weeks of after-school programming during the regular school year from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 30 minutes before school for teachers, program coordinators, and regular school personnel to plan and/or coordinate additional services and provide student or parent counseling as appropriate, and  one night per month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for parental motivational seminars , financial and literacy skills sessions and activities with their children.
Character Education activities.   These project-based activities will help students become more creative thinkers, develop critical thinking skills, work collaborative, improve communication skills, and function as a productive member of a team in an emerging information-based and highly technological society.

Teachers will provide innovative learning opportunities using technology programming and design to increase students skills in math, reading, and science as they conduct hands-on projects that will assist them in building entrepreneurial and life skills and use creative write-to-learn strategies as they introduce creative business ideas to the community. Teachers will combine reading and writing with lessons in life skills, math, and design technology. Students will learn that science does not exist in a vacuum and that science and math equations are all around them—in their homes, the environment, and in their community.  Participants will study basic elements of design, principles of design composition and the use of the design to convey a message, instruction, or an idea. They will use these experiences to conduct marketing and research activities in the community that will be used to explore various ideas for the development of their businesses and/or other project-based learning activities.  Instruction will be
provided through various interactive virtual technology, as well as e-readers, iPads, whiteboard technology, and other electronic and design unites.

Volunteering
at the NC Food Bank

Our projects vary based on what is in the warehouse at the time. Generally, you will be determining whether food is safe or unsafe and then putting it in family-sized containers.
Projects typically include building food boxes, sorting and repackaging of produce, groceries, bulk dry items like pasta or rice, or labeling food containers.

Parent involvement

Parent engagement is key to student success. We partner with educational entities to hold 6 Parent Academy events annually. These workshop style events help equip parents with the tools needed to help their students succeed academically. Presented bilingually, the content focuses on strategies to help students in K-8 become stronger academically and socially. Previous topics have included: "Helping Your Students Select their Best High School Program", "How to Read Academic Reports", "Understanding ESL", and "Games You Can COUNT On - Making Math Fun at Home".
